7 reasons I’m doubling down on libertarian fiction

Libertarian fiction is gonna trend north because people are sick and tired of those who make money off their backs while lying to them.

Project 2030 might scare the shit outta you because it’s coming 10 years after the elites tried using a pandemic to enslave us. They probably would’ve pulled it off. But thankfully, people woke up from their collective trance and pushed back against these psychopaths.

Unfortunately, it don’t take much to lull the masses back to sleep. Oh, look, there’s a Super Bowl going on and at some point later in the decade, Travis Kelce is gonna marry Taylor Swift. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande’s coming out with another sequel of Wicked while the Royal Family keeps kicking cancer’s ass and they expect you to ooh and aww over it.

But if you’re here and reading this latest unapologetic rant, I’m guessing you’re either a libertarian who’s already seeing through the B.S. or you’re one of the “they’re doing this for our own good types” looking to mock me so you can mask your own insecurities.

Wherever you stand, you’re the main reason I’m doubling down on libertarian fiction. Here are seven more reasons.

1 – It’s gonna be in demand…finally…

For a few reasons, libertarian fiction is gonna be hot as the decade hits its second half. We’ve seen more assaults on civil liberties this decade than any other time in American history, and a contingent of people are fed up. They also realized progressive leftism isn’t the gateway to freedom. It’s soft tyranny in a best-case scenario. Just think about how these cats acted during COVID.

2 – Smart people remember the State making an ass of itself

When I say “the State,” I’m speaking collectively. China may’ve gotten away with literally imprisoning people in their own homes and the West tried following the CCP’s lead. Only, those of us who embrace Western values are too tough to tame, and it caused a State so insecure about its approach to the pandemic to lose its shit and start gaslighting people. When it did that, it was game, set, and match. And it gave me a hell of a lotta inspiration.

3 – Fiat money’s dying a most painful death

The national debt in America is approaching $39 trillion and it’ll be over $40 trillion come the end of 2026. Know what’ll keep increasing in value? Gold and silver.

And if the State tries pulling a fast one, people, at this point, will probably just start bartering. And why not, given fiat money’s slow, painful collapse? Inject that into fiction, and I guaran-damn-tee ya a few more people will “get it.”

4 – Parallel systems are gaining traction

What’s the best way to defeat the State in 2026 and beyond? Build a parallel system with likeminded people and prove you don’t need the State to babysit anyone. It’ll throw a hissy fit like those who run it often do. But who cares?

When it happens this time, I’m gonna ask every single biological male when they’re gonna start wearing a skirt to work. They can’t handle the fact that people are contemplating parallel systems, so the gaslight will fire back up. Once again, it’s inspiration for libertarian fiction.

5 – AI is proving something the railroad and barbed wire once proved

People once freaked out about the railroad and barbed wire, claiming “late-stage capitalism” was upon us. That happened in the 19th century, and capitalism continues to make our lives easier. Some are scared shitless that AI will and is taking their jobs. But libertarians who know better realize that AI will just create new opportunities for people if and when they care to look.

6 – People are seeing through soft progressive commentary B.S.

At one point, progressive leftism seemed like a good idea. Who doesn’t want to be treated like an equal? Too bad most of it ended up as pure racism, sexism, and any other ‘ism’ against primarily white cisgender Christian men.

Maybe if this soft progressive commentary was actually soft as opposed to Leftists shouting obscenities at the top of their lungs every time someone whose worldview hurt their feelings on a college campus, they still would’ve had people’s sympathy? They don’t, and it’s why they’re a pissed-off cult.

7 – Because it’s fun to write about a smokin’ hot witch

Eirwynn Starweaver, a main character in The Witch of Thornvale.

I touched on this topic back in May 2025, and in typical TC Marti fashion, I’m getting started on it a good eight months down the road. Why? Hey, I have a full-time job, other books to work on, and a third cornerstone in my life that needs TLC.

But when you got a witch as hot as Eirwyn Starweaver on the run from the king’s huntsmen tracking her down because she’s a witch and she stumbles upon a (somewhat) anarcho-capitalist community alongside the great Drake Ridgeback? Oh, you gotta write about that.
