Quinn and Yui, protagonists in Beyond the Lost Horizon

Beyond the Lost Horizon (A Dystopian Survival Thriller) Cover Reveal

The epic cover for my dystopian survival thriller novella, Beyond the Lost Horizon, has arrived. And this one defines the genre, the story, and the stakes.

It’s finally here! The cover for my debut book in the dystopian/survival thriller genre is up and ready to rock. This one is small-town/backwoods fiction, and it speculates what happens when a loose-cannon sports writer gets entangled with a world-famous K-pop idol as society collapses.

Will these two learn to get along and navigate a world subjected to a coordinated terrorist attack no different from what you may’ve once seen in Red Dawn? Or, will their clashing lifestyles and worldviews prove too much?

Anyway, without further ado, let me share with you the awesome working description for Book I in what’ll be one high-stakes, memorable trilogy.

He came home searching for peace. What he got was the end of the world.

Quinn Cozens, a hard-hitting sports writer with more enemies than friends, just wants to escape the noise.

But a sudden, coordinated attack turns his hometown into ground zero for an apocalypse.

Caught in the chaos is Yui, a sharp-tongued K-pop idol with a secret past and everything to lose.

Quinn saves her life during the attack, but survival comes at a cost.

Hunted by brutal enemies, the two are forced into a fragile alliance.

Each carries scars, hides truths, and in a world turned upside down, trust may be more dangerous than bullets.

Who’s this book for?

Before I tell you if you’re good enough to read this book, let me first tell you who it’s not for. If you’re easily offended, keep away from it. Ditto if you don’t like characters who embrace revisionist history, dive into sensitive topics, or ask forbidden questions.

In other words, if you don’t like reading books that run the risk of challenging your comforting worldview they “taught” you in government school, you ain’t gonna like it.

This book also ain’t for Marxists, socialists, theocrats, whiners, or people who ace books on Goodreads because they read a sentence that offended them.

But if you love reading thrillers about societal collapse, especially in a small-town, backwoods setting, and you don’t mind having that homegrown worldview challenged – the one you picked up starting in grade school – then you might just enjoy it.

And best yet – if you came across this page before July 1st, 2026, it ain’t gonna cost you a dime. Because on July 7th of this year, you can catch it absolutely free.
