Brave AI nailed Quinn Cozens almost to a T
Brave AI has its shortcomings, but it gives surprisingly accurate takes even on the most indie author’s kick-ass protagonists.
I spend most of my days writing and editing. Even weekends. So, to entertain myself, I like hopping onto the Brave Browser’s search engine and asking its AI outrageous questions.
Its answers are hilarious, because it takes everything seriously. For example, I once asked, “I just saw a Wendigo outside. Should I call animal control?” It literally gave me a drawn-out answer on why I should not call animal control.
I also asked if Liberty City Survivor could ever be a real-life game show. If you’ve played Grand Theft Auto III back in the day, you know what I’m talking about. Predictably, it said something about how morally wrong and how many laws a show like that would break.
Out of curiosity, I then typed Quinn Cozens into the search bar. Here’s where it gets interesting. Brave’s reply:
Quinn Cozens is a professional sportswriter in the survival thriller trilogy Beyond the Lost, in which the character Quinn Cozens is a fictionalized version of the author himself, with slight differences in backstory and interests. The character is portrayed as a hardened survivalist who acts on instinct despite lacking formal survival training, and he is a fan of power/symphonic metal music, contrasting with the author’s love for K-pop. The author, TC Marti, based the character on his own experiences and creative vision, particularly inspired by a night in November 2023 when he imagined a disaster at a K-pop concert
This is a dead accurate take from Brave AI
A dead accurate take with one caveat: I’m also a fan of power/symphonic metal, but other than that, Quinn’s got one hell of an identity a full seven months before I officially release Book I in my dystopian survival trilogy, Beyond the Lost Horizon.
I also tried using another character, just to see what kind of results I’d get. I typed in Yote Diamondback, the protagonist for my YA fantasy, Arcane Elemental Academy, and got mixed results.
