Build your own platform and stop begging gatekeepers
The ultimate Sigma playbook is simple: Build your own platform, stop begging gatekeepers, and take control of your art, your message, and your freedom.
Legacy systems thrive on submission. The traditional publisher who tells you your manuscript “isn’t marketable,” the corporate sports outlet that silences dissenting voices to keep advertisers happy, and the state-backed art grant board that decides which art is “worthy.”
If you’re a liberty builder, why would you hand them power over your work? The liberty-driven approach walks around them and builds something better.
Parallel platforms are how we do that: Your own blog, newsletter, and indie storefront are prime examples. Control the pipeline, and you control your destiny.
Independence in distribution
Freedom-based individuals thrive outside the hierarchy. You don’t play by their rules, because they’re rigged. Independence becomes your survival tactic even when the masses think it’s a personality quirk.
Every time you create on and build your own platform, you strip leverage from centralized systems. When you own the channel, they can’t censor, shadowban, or quietly bury you in the algorithm. You’re not waiting in line for someone to choose you because you’ve already chosen yourself.
Practical Example: My funnel, my freedom
I sell directly through my own Payhip store, tied to my blog and newsletter. That means:
-
No Amazon middleman taking 30–65% of every sale.
-
Or begging for reviews or algorithm placement.
-
Zero dependence on gatekeepers to decide if my fiction deserves a readership.
Instead, I run a funnel: blog → newsletter → store. I own every piece of the chain. No petitioning or permission needed.
That’s liberty-based energy in action. Control of distribution = freedom from Amazon, Google, and Big Tech.
Break free and make sure someone follows
I challenge you to map out your own parallel platform strategy. Forget what’s “normal” or “safe.” Create a step-by-step guide for your peers. Something like: Why I’d rather sell through Payhip than Amazon for table scraps.
Show them the math, the control, and that liberty in art is a process.
Every time we walk away from the gatekeepers, we weaken their hold. And when we build parallel platforms, we strengthen the movement.
So stop asking for a seat at their table and build your own. That’s the only way liberty survives in the arts and in business.
