Rajae “Raj” Worthy took her commander to school in my dystopian science fantasy when they argued over what patriotism truly meant. A lot of people have a warped view of patriotism. In the Notes section, I’ve seen neocon chickenhawks get accusatory, lashing out at those unwilling to support war with a nation that never threatened…
Every dystopian science fantasy in The Rebel Lore Vault sticks a dagger to foreign policy and politics. But one has gotten all too real. We’re seeing a war brewing abroad while the ultimate Left vs. Right power struggle continues at home — a power struggle featuring two totalitarian factions. The mistake most people make is…
Wind Wielder is literary fiction disguised as a brewing military science fantasy, and it takes a flamethrower to American foreign policy narratives. I first wrote Wind Wielder during the COVID pandemic in June 2020. So much of it did double duty. It hit on how governments and corporations collude to create narratives that trickle down through the…
COVID-19 was more than a sack of lies told by governments all over the globe. But it sowed the seeds for my very first novel. I first wrote Wind Wielder in 2020. A book without a true genre, some would say. I fused Wind Wielder with dystopian, fantasy, sci-fi, and military concepts. My biggest challenge, by far, was…
The original Elementals of Nordica concept still explored fantasy, sci-fi, and military concepts, but it was a dark fight for survival and nothing more. Morbid. That’s the best way to describe the original Elementals of Nordica concept. Take a completely politically-incorrect novel and inject grimdark fantasy into its elements. That’s what I was gunning for. Name the offensive language…
Grand Theft Auto III (GTA III) is one of the most memorable and controversial games ever. And one I had to at least give a nod to in Wind Wielder. My Elementals of Nordica series carries a lot of nods and recognition to some of my favorite books, movies, and even video games from the…
Elementals of Nordica will impress readers who don’t need their fiction to fit cleanly in any one genre. And it packs a lot of punches. Before I wrote this piece, I went back and trashed six posts from May 2021. And wow, what a difference four and a half years makes. Back then, I didn’t…
Every book ever created, even those that have sold millions of copies, all started with a target audience. And the Renegades Epic shared universe is obviously no different. Since I had a productive conversation the other day regarding my own target audience, I felt it’d be informative for you to decide if you’re a good fit….
If you’re an avid reader, especially in the fantasy genre (all sub-genres included), you’ll probably find some well-known book characters within Sion Zona, Lord Tuukka, Lord Col Eriksson, and others. Along with popular television and film characters. Both good and evil, that is. Today’s post won’t necessarily talk about my book characters. Instead, I’ll cover…
Elementals of Nordica is unique to the fantasy genre because it doesn’t fall into a mainstream category. Most books written these days don’t, but I’m not kidding when I tell you that you can put the series into five different categories in fantasy. And we haven’t even gotten to the science fiction, dystopian, and military…
