A so-called utopia built on statism, featuring windmills and electric cars.

Liberty still prevails even if statism actually worked

Even if statism worked and those claiming the government’s role is to ‘provide for the less fortunate’ were true, it’s still inferior to liberty.

Imagine the ultimate leftist “utopia,” one where clean energy policies saved the environment and people ceded combustion vehicles for electric cars and trucks. A utopia where anti-gun laws eliminated senseless shootings, the Alphabet Mafia had the right to enter and receive service without feeling ‘marginalized,’ and government handouts and massive welfare safety nets eliminated poverty.

Even better, public schools churned out well-rounded, “tolerant” citizens, universal healthcare ensured free or affordable service, and free college tuition meant everyone got a fair shake to achieve their wildest dreams.

A world where people embraced safety and kept others in check if they deviated, and any policy the government implemented, people smiled, bowed, and followed. Why? Because they knew the latest restriction, law, or policy was for their own good.

Society thrived because government, knowing what was best for the masses, led the charge. The people, once they submitted and obeyed their wise overlords, saw and understood that, if they got and stayed out of the State’s way, they prospered without worrying about paying for food, water, shelter, or even maintaining a basic living standard.

Even in a world like that, the State still failed, and I’m gonna tell you why.

Statism violates Natural Law, regardless

The question we need to ask is: Why? Why does statism, even if it proved to work better than voluntaryism, still fall short?

The short answer? Basic human rights of life, liberty, and property precede it. You’re born with those natural rights; the State doesn’t give them to you. This is because man preceded the State, not the other way around.

So, let’s ask ourselves this burning question: What if there came a time when organic human conception ceased and science created everyone in a lab?

Think Brave New World, if you want a comp, or even Kate L. Mary’s Beyond trilogy, if you’re looking for something more modern.

Even in this extreme case, individuals’ natural rights still precede the State.

Why?

Simple. Regardless of your faith, even if you’re an atheist and you think the universe came from nothing, there’s still an unmoved mover. That unmoved mover set life in motion, and is, henceforth, the Creator, Higher Power, call it what you will.

Everything we organically see today descends from that Creator or Higher Power. People descended from it, before a minority of them started forming states and central planning, regardless of one’s consent.

It’s not a matter of what works, but what is

Question a manmade law that invades property rights to the wrong people, and they’ll snap you and claim, “Well, that’s just the way things are.” Okay, but when you dig deeper, you find that the way things are is a violation of what is.

What isn’t is what mortal men who drown you in debt, taxes, and a lower standard of living claim. The Laws of the Universe dictate what is and what isn’t, not men who seek control.

How do we know what is and what isn’t? Easy. Did the Higher Power create the State? No. Mortal men created the State.

If the Higher Power, an eternal force regardless of how you look at it, intended for mortal men to rule over the masses, then the State would’ve preceded life, liberty, and property.

The first men would’ve formed a state, used central planning to allocate everything in terms of ‘equity,’ and prospered. In historically thriving societies, men and markets came before the State, and they left people better off, the latter of which Ludwig von Mises points out in his lesson on capitalism.

The State’s atrocities against Natural Law

Think of the State’s track record. It has:

  • Waged wars on a global scale
  • Stolen
  • Lied
  • Counterfeited
  • Monopolized force
  • Indoctrinated youth
  • Kidnapped
  • Weaponized fear

What has this led to? Violence, resentment, anger, hate, force, everything that rails against positive energy. How do you reclaim your god-given rights?

You secede and build alternative systems free from the State. That’s something you’ll find in my YA fantasy, The Arcane Prophecy.

Yote Diamondback may embrace statism before she ventures to Arcane. But when she sees how happy and prosperous the people of Aurora Village are because they’re left alone, she rewires her brain.

Sure, the society built around Arcane Elemental Academy faces its challenges, and it’s something I inject into the series. But you know what? Those who embrace statism are gonna state, so Arcane’s providing debatable answers to those objections through fiction for the haters.

Check out the first three chapters of The Arcane Prophecy right now, and meet Yote Diamondback before she ventures to the academy.
