John McCain standing over a war-torn battlefield.

No matter who you vote for, you always get John McCain

Trump. Biden. Bush. Obama. They’re all John McCain. Different names, same bombs. U.S. foreign policy never changes, because the war machine runs both parties.

Donald Trump just lied us one step closer to another unconstitutional war. Again.

And it shouldn’t surprise you. Not if you’ve been paying attention. Because in America, it don’t matter who you vote for. You can choose the red-tie populist or the blue-tie technocrat. You can vote for the billionaire showman or the career politician.

Either way, you get John F*cking McCain.

The permanent uni-party of war

Republicans and Democrats pretend to hate each other. They’ll call each other fascists, socialists, threats to democracy, and everything in between. But when it comes to foreign policy—blowing up brown people who are ants to them, arming dictators, justifying surveillance, and shoveling money to Lockheed Martin—they speak with one voice.

Trump may have mocked McCain. But in the end, he governed like him:

  • He escalated drone strikes beyond Obama.

  • He assassinated a foreign general (Soleimani) without congressional approval.

  • He sold weapons to the Saudis with your tax dollars.

  • He surrounded himself with neocon relics like John Bolton in his first term.

  • And now, once again, he’s lying to push for more conflict—likely with Iran.

Sound familiar?

It should. Because it’s exactly what Biden, Obama, Bush, and Clinton all did before him.

One war. Two wars. Red wars. Blue wars. Always war.

  • George W. Bush gave us Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • Barack Obama gave us Libya, Syria, drone assassinations, and Yemen.

  • Donald Trump gave us escalated air wars, Iran brinkmanship, and a record Pentagon budget.

  • Joe Biden gave us Ukraine escalation, Nord Stream sabotage rumors, and billions to defense contractors.

In the end, each claimed to hate war. Each promised restraint. And each expanded empire.

This is not a coincidence. It’s the system working exactly as designed.

Elections are theater. War is policy.

The Pentagon never gets defunded. Nor does the CIA ever get shut down. The drone program never gets scaled back. And the (Deep) State Department never stops lying.

That’s because American foreign policy isn’t set by presidents—it’s set by the permanent regime: intelligence agencies, unelected bureaucrats, think tank parasites, and a corporate press that frames every war as necessary.

Every president, no matter how populist or progressive, ends up serving it. They don’t drain the swamp. Oh no. Instead, they become its mouthpiece.

Deep state Donnie’s mask is off

For years, Trump supporters claimed he was anti-war. He wasn’t.

He talked at least somewhat like Ron Paul and governed like McCain with better slogans. Now, just like the rest of them, he’s gaslighting his base and the nation into another round of Middle East bloodshed—just as George W. Bush did once upon a time.

Because nothing rallies Americans like a good old-fashioned foreign enemy. Trump’s lie is not a departure. It’s a return to form. The same one both parties follow.

You don’t live in a democracy

You live in a war state with two marketing departments. One says “Freedom isn’t free.” The other says “Human rights.” But the bombs fall either way, killing millions.

Whether it’s Trump, Obama, Biden, Bush, or Clinton, you always end up with:

  • The lies.

  • The body bags.

  • The deficits.

  • The cover-ups.

  • The John McCain Doctrine of permanent war.

That’s why I stopped voting for it. That’s why I write fiction to expose it.
