Secession isn’t insane and my dark paranormal fantasy proves it
How about we start our own free city or even our own country? Sound insane? My dark paranormal fantasy says, “Not so fast, my friend!”
Yeah, taking words from the great Lee Corso, legendary college football analyst who, for decades, did something he was passionate about. Most people can’t say that. But sometimes, being passionate about something isn’t what we do for a living.
In the real world, I have a cool job. A dream job. One that fans of a specific sport I write daily about would give up an arm and a leg to have. Yes, I’m being mum, because I don’t need my two brands to entwine.
One must remain the front, and this one here is the purpose, the passion, and the essence of my existence. What keeps me going is seeing what’s happening around me. Mass surveillance, AI tech, and the dystopia us libertarians knew would be coming, which started with mass censorship.
If we lived in a voluntarist world based on anarcho-capitalism, free exchange, and contractual consent, I’d get to do what Corso did for 40-plus years: Analyze my favorite sport and that would be it. Unfortunately, I need to write fiction and show others how to regain their privacy, sovereignty, and peace of mind from people who hate us.
That’s the State, and the many corporations it has at its disposal that hate you just as much as they claim to care about you. It’s the basis behind my dark paranormal fantasy series, Catenarian Chronicles, and it ultimately leads you to one dramatic realization.
👉 Get Cursed Mage and discover how it’s more than a typical paranormal fantasy
The two-party system in my dark paranormal fantasy sucks
Two rival factions, the Auguries and Mercenaries, fight more than Republicans and Democrats. They skirmish in Book I, Cursed Mage. And, as you’ll later find out, they’ll commit domestic terrorism if it means gaining a political advantage.
Think that wouldn’t happen here in the States? Hey, one party thinks it’s okay to lock you down when a virus spreads. Sounds communist. Another party thinks it’s fine to deploy armed soldiers in city streets. Sounds national socialist. Don’t put it past these people.
If you believe for one second that what’s happening in TC Marti’s dark paranormal fantasy series would never happen here, open your eyes and take notes. That’s the message this book series is spreading. But don’t worry; it’s not all horror.
Secession can also happen and it is happening worldwide
You don’t need to worry about becoming part of this brewing AI surveillance state. One that’s gaining traction so slowly that it’s easy to miss. Just as they want it.
It’s already started with Real ID. A seemingly soft first step toward an eventual digital ID and centralized biometric system. One that’ll store your data, if you’re naive enough to fall into the trap.
Microsoft has already celebrated in a recent update that, and I’m paraphrasing, “your computer will see what you see.” That’s based on an update with Copilot, something they’re advertising on the sidelines at NFL games if you care to look.
It’s a pattern: Sell them as safety and convenience, let them marinate during entertaining events, let the public blindly accept them, then move to the next rung. Save this paragraph right here and come back to me in five years.
But like I said: You don’t need to worry
You have power to buck all of this by seceding. Free cities like Prospera, for example, are the refuge. But it’s not the only free city operating under a parallel system.
In the short term, pay for items with cash if you’re not comfortable using a card, invest in metals and Goldbacks, use the Brave browser, open-sourced AI models like Venice and desktop platforms like Linux, and pay money for VPNs and outlets like Proton Mail.
As for the long term? Do you think people won’t walk away? Those sane enough to realize what’s happening here will. That’s where secession comes in. And it’s why you need to connect with people who share your worldview.
So when the time comes, you can walk away from this madness that’ll eventually lead to a Chinese-style social credit score through a central bank digital currency or an equivalent.
Don’t believe that last part? They quit manufacturing pennies. Nickels are next. Just watch. I’ll wait.
Rising Mage gives Kaija Jokiharju hope in a dark world
If Cursed Mage is about hinting at the corruption in the mass surveillance state Kaija Jokiharju is living in and Astray Mage is about exposing the nation of Vimsinew’s two-party system, then Rising Mage is about secession.
I set the stage in Astray Mage for Kaija and the crew to embrace this concept. And trust me, they’re left without a choice. Something I make sure of in Astray Mage, as it’s a situation nobody would want to find themselves in.
There’s hope in Rising Mage, since those who embrace anarcho-capitalist principles, voluntary transactions, and, most importantly, privacy, exist in Vimsinew. The mass surveillance state thinks it’s got everyone wrapped around its finger, but the dissenters said, “Not so fast, my friend.”
If you want to see how I set the stage for Rising Mage, head over to The Rebel Lore Vault, get yourself a copy of Cursed Mage right now, and keep an eye on Astray Mage.
