A Second Free Story is Coming to the Readers Republic

Free Story

If you’re part of the Readers Republic, expect a second free story to come your way. And if you have yet to join the Republic, the link above will take you straight to my website’s home page, in which you can click the button below the description and claim a free book.

But now, a second free book is coming to the Republic’s members, courtesy of that little blunder I talked about in a previous post. You can click the following link to read all about my first rookie mistake. And spoiler alert, it probably won’t be my last.

Today’s post will talk about that second free book, when you can expect it to come your way, and how it relates to the Elementals of Nordica Series.

How the Free Story Was Born

Chronicles of Rondure

So, how did I come up with this second freebie to share with the Republic?

The link in the intro will give you the full (and humorous) scoop. But to make a long story short, I inadvertently sent two mailing campaigns within 45 minutes of one another via MailerLite. I initially intended to send one on Friday, June 4th, 2021, and the second one on the 7th. However, without realizing the scheduled campaign release reset itself, I scheduled both to be released on the same day.

You can only imagine what I was thinking here: About a billion unsubscribes coupled with spam complaints. Fortunately, it did not happen that day, and I was pleasantly surprised at the open and click rate for both emails. So, as a reward to my current mailing list, and as a thank you to any of you who join the Republic, I decided to write this free story on the spur of the moment.

And as you can see, I’ve dubbed it the Chronicles of Rondure, which features a special main character and so far, it’s the only book I have written in the Elementals Universe that does not include my main cast from the Elementals of Nordica Series.

However, there is one huge reason behind this. The next section will fill you in on how both the World of Rondure and its protagonist relates to Elementals of Nordica.

Series Debut in Wind Master

Wind Master

Our protagonist, Tash Holmes, sees her official debut in the Elementals of Nordica Series in Book II – Wind Master. To avoid spoilers other than the fact that Tash appears in the series in some capacity, I won’t elaborate on the girl’s role.

However, as I was writing Wind Master and going through yet another round of edits on the work, a small voice told me to come up with a backstory for this girl, and possibly publish a short as a free add-on to the Republic. Obviously, my actions on June 4th, 2021, sped that process when my double campaign threatened to annoy readers.

Thankfully, it wasn’t the case that day, so the reward was just necessary. Plus, it allows my readers and you if you join the Republic, to catch a background on both the World of Rondure, its situation, how it relates to Elementals of Nordica, and what kind of role Tash may play in Wind Master.

Also, since Elementals of Nordica itself is just one part of the Elementals Universe, Chronicles of Rondure also kicks open the door for a potential series regarding this interesting world along with the characters I introduce in it.

Cool, right?

So, if the response is positive enough, and if you love elemental magic entwined with dystopian tropes odds are, you’ll love this little preview of the World of Rondure, I’ll get busy on writing a series about it, too. Especially since Tash is not the only character I introduce here.

One of Many Free Stories to Come

Yes, Chronicles of Rondure is one of many free stories to come your way when you join the Republic. If you’ve read my post on interquels, you’ll know that I plan on releasing such works as free bonuses to everyone in the Republic. So, you’ll get a free interquel following Wind Master, another following Wind Keeper, and so on.

Expect each story to be at least novelette length, while some will reach novella status. If you’re not part of the Republic, you can still read and fully understand the works without the interquel books. However, if you’re a sucker like I am and you crave behind-the-scenes access, then you’ll want to get your hands on the interquels, character profiles, and so much more.

There are a lot of free stories to come, and Chronicles of Rondure is just the warmup.

Thank you for reading today’s post, and Go Cardinals!
