A man staring down an authoritarian, woke Right dystopia

The woke Right is as dangerous as the woke Left

The woke Right expands war, debt, and surveillance, just like the Left. Here’s how Trump exposed the truth behind the so-called anti-establishment.

Everyone loves to bash the woke Left, and rightly so. From DEI bureaucracies to compelled speech to the cult of victimhood, leftist authoritarianism has hijacked every institution it touches. But if you think the Right is your savior, you’ve bought into a different lie.

Because there’s another kind of woke. One that wraps itself in red, white, and blue, sings the national anthem before every crackdown, and screams about liberty while lobbying to expand the state in their own image.

It’s the woke Right, and it’s just as insidious.

What is the woke Right?

The woke Right isn’t about freedom. It’s about control. It’s the faction that wants to ban books, dictate what teachers can say, outlaw behavior they find “biblically immoral,” and force everyone to salute the flag, or else.

They scream about “liberty” but cheer when the government drags someone off for saying the wrong thing online. They cry about censorship while pushing loyalty oaths, anti-‘blasphemy’ laws, and TikTok bans. These snowflakes say they hate cancel culture, until it’s their chance to cancel you.

They’re not fighting for freedom. They’re fighting for their version of conformity, and it’s just as bad as what the Left’s doing.

It’s authoritarianism with a cross

If the woke Left preaches “equity” and “anti-racism” while pushing speech codes and censorship, the woke Right does the same under the banner of “God,” “patriotism,” and “traditional values.”

They don’t want to leave you alone like they once upon a time claimed. They want to mold you.

To them, you’re not free unless you:

  • Pledge allegiance in a classroom they control

  • Pray to their god on their terms

  • Love who they say you can love

  • Raise your kids according to their rules

Sound familiar? It should. It’s just statism in a different uniform.

Both sides are power-worshipping cultists

The problem isn’t the Left or the Right. It’s that both want to use the state to engineer culture. The Left does it with HR departments and activist judges. The Right does it with school boards and legislative crackdowns.

And when you criticize one side, the other always says, “Well, at least we’re not them.”

That’s how they get away with it, and it’s how the boot stays on the pit bull’s neck.

Libertarians punch in both directions

If you’re a libertarian or just a sane person, you need to reject all forms of top-down cultural enforcement. You don’t fix authoritarianism by swapping rainbow flags for crosses, or social justice dogma for religious puritanism.

You fix it by tearing out the state’s ability to force anyone to live according to someone else’s blueprint. In other words, you fix it by leaving people the hell alone.

Wokeism is a power problem

The woke Left uses identity to control you. The woke Right uses religious morality. But neither trusts you to run your own life because they hate you and think you’re a bunch of incompetent idiots.

And both will build a boot, slap a slogan on it, and call it “freedom.” Don’t fall for it.

Know who stopped falling for it? At least somewhat? Fourteen-year-old Yote Diamondback. Yote started seeing the state for what it truly was in my prequel novella to The Arcane Prophecy, Arcane Awakenings.

If you’re into young adult academy fantasy featuring a protagonist who learns just how evil the state is, regardless of who’s in charge, you’ll like this book.
