A digital painting showing a teenager standing between two contrasting learning environments: a dark, institutional public school with rigid students on one side, and a warm, open alternative education setting with collaborative workshops on the other, as the teen holds a glowing book symbolizing independent learning.

We need to keep public school bashing in 2026

We need to keep public school bashing in 2026 and expose it for the endgame it represents: Create compliant working drones for the State.

Market-based education is the best way to train young people to become entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, public school still doesn’t respect that.

Every year, I do two things. I read the newsletters from my old local public school. I also look at the annual calendar my parents get since they still live in the district.

Know what those newsletters talk about? The steps they’re taking to receive more funding, and to help ensure each student graduates and moves on for enlistment, enrollment, and employment. Translation: “We want to ensure each student becomes a compliant citizen to the State.”

That’s why public school bashing can’t go away.

Taking my public school bashing up a notch in 2026

Look at my Public Schools section in the Unapologetic Rants, and you’re getting a fine dose of stories that talk about how ridiculous these places are.

Unfortunately, things haven’t changed. Advocates might claim theatrics, like STEM and related programs that help gear kids toward a specific field of work. They’ll talk about extracurriculars, how sports “keep kids out of trouble”, and all that nonsense.

But they balk at two things: The fact that the market produces higher quality alternatives, thanks to profit incentives and competition. The other? With more extracurriculars offered, the greater the likelihood that kids will stay under the State’s thumb.

Finally, I’ll respond to myths. Myths that public schools are community cornerstones. I’ll also talk about how schools deviating from the Prussian Model is a lie.

The goal? Get people to remember the slog that accompanied their “educational” journey. Too many of us look at yearbooks from back in the day and see happy faces staring back. Unfortunately, the reality is that we wore long faces a hell of a lot more than we did happy faces.

Using fiction as a refuge for market education

The Arcane Prophecy by TC MartiI’m not an education entrepreneur, but that’s a good thing. It means I don’t need to tailor my Unapologetic Rants toward education entrepreneurship.

I’m a pro-liberty writer using fiction as a signal fire while living the anarcho-libertarian lifestyle. That means I value privacy and use tools to maintain that privacy, like the Brave Browser and Proton Mail, to throw a few out there.

Writing books is just a way to tell awesome stories while injecting libertarianism to the forefront, and values like market education.

If you need a piece, check out the first three chapters of my young adult fantasy, The Arcane Prophecy. Meet Yote Diamondback, and scope out those early indicators of market education with whispers of the legendary Arcane Elemental Academy and its 32 competing schools.
