Why libertarians know elections don’t change the system
The wars never end, the debt keeps climbing, and the lies never stop. Libertarians aren’t fooled, and we know damn well neither party plans to fix it.
Every four years, the American public is offered a fresh round of political theater. Red vs. Blue. Freedom vs. Tyranny. Good vs. Evil—depending on which channel you’re watching. But beneath the cheap slogans and polished ads, one truth holds: Nothing fundamentally changes.
Tom Woods said it best in a recent newsletter:
“Four things evidently never change, no matter who gets elected:
(1) the debt keeps growing,
(2) the bombs keep dropping,
(3) the lies keep getting told, and
(4) the people the regime hates most are the ones who stand against (1), (2), and (3).”
He’s right, and every libertarian knows it.
The debt keeps growing
Democrats promise “investments.” Republicans preach “fiscal responsibility.” Both vote for trillion-dollar budgets. The national debt now sits at over $37 trillion and climbing. Neither party has the spine, or incentive, to stop printing, spending, and inflating.
The longer this game goes, the more your savings erode, your purchasing power collapses, and your children inherit economic slavery.
Libertarians are the only ones saying: End the Fed, slash spending, and audit everything.
The bombs keep dropping
The party in power may change, but the drone strikes don’t. Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Ukraine, (Iran?), you name it. Endless war’s become permanent policy. The defense budget balloons, the Pentagon lies, and foreign intervention continues under the guise of “spreading democracy.” A god that continues to fail, by the way.
These days, libertarians are the only voices demanding non-intervention, peace, and an end to empire. And for that? We’re called “isolationists” by the same people whose wars never end.
They keep telling you fibs
Weapons of mass destruction. Flatten the curve. The Fed has inflation under control. Ukraine is winning. Bidenomics is working. Lie after lie after godd*mn lie.
The regime’s mastered narrative control. Corporate media amplifies it. Big Tech censors dissent. Government schools reinforce it. And the public swallows it—because they’re conditioned to obey.
Libertarians are the only ones shouting: Question everything. Especially when they tell you not to.
The regime hates the ones who oppose all three
And who gets vilified the most? Not the warmongers, the deficit hawks turned spendthrifts, or the liars in expensive suits.
It’s the dissidents, the truth-tellers, and the principled radicals. It’s Ron Paul, Edward Snowden, Julien Assange, and Roger Ver. Hell, it’s every libertarian who dares to ask, “What if the state’s the problem?” Spoiler alert: it is.
Because we threaten the illusion and remind people they’ve been conned. That makes us dangerous. Not to society, but to the bureaucratic system that’s enslaved you.
You always end up with John McCain
You can vote Democrat or Republican. You can feel good about “fighting fascism” or “restoring America.”
But the truth remains:
-
The debt will grow.
-
The bombs will fall.
-
The lies will multiply.
-
And the regime will smear anyone who calls it out.
Unless we stop playing their game, we build something outside the system, and we stop hoping for salvation from the very people that hate us and profit from our obedience. Unless…
That’s why I write libertarian fiction. Not to escape, but to make myself heard. To expose, warn, and inspire. My characters don’t wait for elections. They take action, and you should, too.
