Commanders new logo signals one massive cultural shift

The Washington Commanders new logo and uniforms are long overdue. It’s one small step for Washington, but one giant leap for the NFL.

Oh my God, they’re the Washington Redskins again! Sort of. In mid-April, the Washington Commanders unleashed a new logo and uniforms that made some culture warriors flip. While it’s a small step, maybe a micro step, fighting back was long-past overdue.

No, the Redskins aren’t coming back. Yet, anyway. But reinserting that sacred spear onto the alternate helmet made me pump a fist and go, “Yes. Finally.” And those new uniforms couldn’t have been more beautiful. I’d have given them a perfect 5 out of 5 if only that spear went onto the primary helmet and they ditched the soulless ‘W’. But again: small steps.

Why the Washington Commanders new logo is a godsend

My fondest childhood and teenage memories came from watching the NFL. The real NFL. Not that watered-down, safety-first trash we see these days. One with a few players wearing the “toad shells” on their heads during games.

You remember that moment in Revenge of the Sith when Padme tells Anakin “I don’t even know you anymore,” or something along those terms? And you wonder why I started following and writing about hockey for a living. Because before Colin Kaepernick helped spearhead the woke movement in football, it was turning into such a pansy league that I was left with nothing but nostalgia and the days of old.

It wasn’t just wokeness and anal safety measures. The latter of which is still in full force, unfortunately. Look at so many garbage alternate uniforms these teams are wearing. Thankfully, many of them — including the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans — got the message and dropped their godawful threads in favor of something more traditional.

Hell, the Titans look almost exactly like the old Houston Oilers, and it’s epic. So there’s progression after so many years of regression. If only the NFL could take a flamethrower to Nike’s retarded Rivalries program, then we can really get the ball rolling on the uniform front.

What’s next for the Washington Commanders and the NFL?

Corporations are still toeing the line with caution. Unfortunately for the league, Corporate America has a large stake in it. But 2026 and beyond is more sane than the Leftist insanity that plagued America, mainly in the 2010s and early 2020s.

Fortunately for sane people, those days are fading. And they must keep fading. For those who are still crying foul, shouting hate, racism, exploitation, and whatever other BS that’s spewing from their mouths…too bad.

You had your way, it was more unpopular than Donald Trump’s war with Iran, and people are coming out of their trances. Out of the Imperious Curse the Left put them under and controlled their thoughts, their words, and their actions.

You’re in the real world now, where facts trump feelings. One where the market dominates, and that market happens to be consumers of a product called the National Football League.

The NFL and the Commanders will recognize that Leftists are no longer in charge, and they’ll start conforming more to market demands. Don’t be surprised if and when the spear appears on the primary uniforms. and don’t be surprised if that good old Indian head returns to a throwback.

And damn it, don’t be surprised if, at some point in the far future, the Redskins’ name and branding returns. That will be a day of celebration, and another nail in the woke cult’s coffin.

Nostalgia is a major theme in a book featuring an NFL writer

In my dystopian survival novella, Beyond the Lost Horizon, Quinn Cozens is a disillusioned freelance writer covering the NFL. In that world, Quinn didn’t get to see those Redskins-like uniforms return, and he longed for his childhood in the early 2000s and even into the 2010s. Where the game at least somewhat resembled what he grew up watching.

But like me, Quinn wasn’t sanitized. That’s why he was a freelancer, and didn’t bow down to performative corporate hierarchy. He was just as much of a flamethrower as I was when I wrote this article, if you didn’t already figure it out.

Now, the time is coming for you to meet Quinn. Head over to The Rebel Lore Vault — a store that Big Tech companies like Amazon can’t rule over — and catch Quinn’s story in Beyond the Lost Horizon. Find out if he and the sharp-tongued K-pop idol he crosses paths with can evade the most devastating terrorist attack in American history.
