The ultimate sigma male staring at the faint confines of a big city at night.

Living the ultimate Sigma Male lifestyle and loving it

I have 99 problems with the world, but living the ultimate Sigma male lifestyle on my own terms ain’t one. And that’s a major victory.

I might talk about how much government schools suck, or how much the two-party system in America sucks. But you know what doesn’t suck? My lifestyle.

And I’m not bragging. Instead, I want to inspire you to take steps today and start living life on your terms so you don’t have to answer to anyone but yourself.

The Sigma male lifestyle’s all about self-reliance, nonconformity, and being a lone wolf who doesn’t need validation from anyone. You operate outside the hierarchy—not as an Alpha barking orders, or a Beta following them, but someone who writes their own rules and lives on their own terms.

Once upon a time, I was living as a Delta or maybe even a Gamma. This is what a typical day for me looked like during the work week:

  • Wake up
  • Workout
  • Work on side hustles
  • Go pull steel at a warehouse for 10-14 hours
  • Go home
  • Go to sleep
  • Rinse and repeat five days a week

Hey, at least I found time to work out and work on my side hustles. But from 2 p.m. until “when,” I was at the mercy of a d*ckhead supervisor between 50 and 60 hours a week. And to be frank, it f*cking sucked so much that I quit once I had enough in my savings account to hold me over for the summer of 2019.

Once summer faded to fall, I ended up working three days a week at a grocery store distribution center between 10 and 14 hours. And yeah, that also sucked.

The Sigma male lifestyle came with grit

It’s hard to be a lone wolf when you’re around people all day. And while the grocery store warehouse gig wasn’t as bad since it was only three days a week, it was my primary income until COVID temporarily ended the world.

Fast-forward to 2025, and here’s what a typical day looks like…working from my living room, mind you.

  • Get up
  • Work on side hustles (always have a side hustle)
  • Workout
  • Work a remote day job that I control
  • Work on side hustles some more
  • Workout again if I want
  • Go to sleep

Now that is a much, much more rewarding lifestyle. So, how did I attain it? In today’s world, when we’re armed with laptops, it’s easy. Well, easy as long as you’re fine with living a subsistence lifestyle for a bit while you’re working toward your goal.

My advice to you

Play to your strengths

Find or rediscover a hobby that you can sell as a service. And if you think AI is gonna take that hobby away from you because it’s “faster and more convenient,” you’re fooling yourself. The masses are learning to spot AI content within seconds, and most aren’t impressed with it. It’s a knock-off of human creation, and logical people know this. AI’s no replacement for originality, but it’ll amplify initiative.

Be proactive

A lot of people aren’t proactive because they don’t know where to start. And this is where AI gets useful. Tell it that you’re looking to sell services in a specific niche, and it will give you a well-thought-out blueprint, including how to sell yourself, where to look, and often, who to contact. Then, contact them.

Keep leveling up

You can also use AI to do more than find remote work, whether freelance or full-time. These days, you can use it to build digital products and courses, paying it forward to help others either become lone wolves like us or escape the shift work drudgery.

Become an authority

You’re working remotely to make full-time income and you’re offering your own products and/or courses for others. Now, it’s about staying consistent. Keep it up, stay current with trends, and always upgrade your products so they stay current. You do that, you’re living the Sigma male (or female) lifestyle while earning a sizable income.

At its core, the Sigma lifestyle’s a freedom-based one. It’s waking up knowing you control your time, energy, and decisions. No boss owns you; you’re not reliant on a government handout or seeking anyone else’s approval. And it’s sovereignty—the ability to walk your own path, even when it doesn’t fit the script society laid out.

The ultimate Sigma male lifestyle is a challenging feat

Often, I see people claiming to live as Sigmas but falling short. Are they working in jobs that let them work and operate alone, or primarily alone? And are they completely self-sufficient without regular interdependence on anyone?

Perhaps the most burning question: Are they in a romantic relationship because they want to be or need to be? And, if the former is true, are they giving themselves enough space?

Want an example of the ultimate Sigma male in my work? Then meet Quinn Cozens, the protagonist of my dystopian survival trilogy, Beyond the Lost. Before America burned, Quinn was an independent sports writer who made his own way and answered to nobody.

Plus, he was and still is an unapologetic libertarian who saw through government and bureaucracies, choosing at an early age not to rely on them for anything if it involved someone else’s taxes paying for it. If you want a fictionalized blueprint of what the Sigma male lifestyle looks like, meet Quinn in Beyond the Lost Horizon, and he’ll give you a few tips.

Whether you’re writing your own story or reading Quinn’s, remember: The Sigma lifestyle is all about taking control. Start today
