Ella Kinnunen at a glance
Born to Samuli Kinnunen and Misha Hagg via a surrogate, Ella’s only ever known wealth. Yet unlike her twin half-brother, Heikki, Ella doesn’t use it to her advantage to gain fame. Instead, she pursues interests with so much relentless abandon, nobody can stop her when she has her mind made up.
Samuli isn’t fond of Ella’s independent streak. While he’d rather see Ella focus more on honing her Fire Mage skills and achieving Master Status, Ella craves freedom from her father, and truth-seeking in a world laced with propaganda.
So, when the going got tough during her younger years, Ella found some clever and cunning ways to keep her inventions hidden from her father, taking advantage of a loose floorboard under her bed and a long-abandoned chamber behind her bedroom.
Some of Ella’s inventions include a mini grid that can power an entire city, a robo bug programmed to do her bidding, and several apps. She keeps an untraceable old burner watch phone buried in her nightstand in case she needs it, and she’s secretly been observant of all Augury Party activities over the years.
That observance is what kicks things off in Deceived Mage, where Ella’s never-say-die, use-all-means-necessary to achieve something mentality rears its head. And if it means telling lies to authority figures to get what she wants, so be it.
Though she doesn’t know it until the events of Deceived Mage, Ella’s sly personality stems from her mother. Only difference is, she’s not so sinister. Meet them both in Deceived Mage.
