Five series starters fading into a forest, symbolizing silent secession from Amazon.

Amazon will be my placeholder in 2026 (and why you should care)

Amazon is a parasite that offers convenience as long as you play by its rules. And it’s time for authors and readers to throw it a middle finger.

Wind Wielder by TC Marti

Most writers won’t say this out loud, but here it is: Amazon takes 30 to 65 percent of every sale an author makes.

That means when you click “Buy Now,” you’re funding the biggest digital landlord in the world, not supporting an author’s dream. The company ultimately dictates prices, owns the customer relationship, and punishes authors for daring to sell outside of their ecosystem.

Come March 2nd, 2026, I’m no longer doing middlemen, relegating Amazon to second place while favoring my direct sales store.

When you buy direct from me through Payhip at The Rebel Lore Vault, you’re doing something radical in 2026 and beyond. You’re saying, “I want the creator to keep control.”  That means you’re voting for creative independence.

The price of convenience

Amazon made buying easy. One click, and it’s yours. But convenience always comes with a cost, and that cost is ownership.

When you “buy” on Amazon, you don’t actually own the file. They can remove it anytime, change the formatting, or alter the metadata without asking. It’s a license, not a purchase.

When you buy direct, you get a DRM-free file that’s yours forever. There are no revokes or corporate fingerprints. Just a story between you and me.

The Reader Rebellion

Every direct sale helps me create more books, faster, and on my terms, not a corporation’s algorithm. It offers the kind of world-building that doesn’t bend to “what sells on Kindle.”

And best yet, you’re helping build a real world that values independence over obedience.

That’s what my stories are about, too. Every rebellion starts with one person saying, “I’m done playing by their rules.” And people naturally follow.

Be part of the change

When you buy from my Rebel Lore Vault, you’re part of the movement that keeps storytelling free and creators independent. You get early access editions, bonus content, and the satisfaction of knowing the system didn’t take its cut.

So if you’ve ever read a story that made you feel something real—rage, hope, freedom—here’s your chance to live that same principle. And best yet, I can direct you to sample a work through this author blog, without worrying about Amazon penalizing me for it.

Why not start with Cursed Mage?
