Introducing Arcane Elemental Academy and its 32 schools
A few things led me to create a 32-school system within the Arcane Elemental Academy. One was my disdain for government schools.
Having gone through the public schooling system and learning absolutely nothing of worth other than statist propaganda and to shut the f*ck up unless given permission to speak, there was no way I was centering my academy fantasy around a state-funded school.
And if I did, I guarantee you the leader of that school would’ve pulled off their best impression of Albus Dumbledore, if you catch my drift. No, it was going to be a completely private schooling system in which education entrepreneurs ran the show, and they did a pretty damn good job.
Speaking of Dumbledore, the Harry Potter series was another massive inspiration behind the work. And you’ll see the Potter influences all over the place even if our protagonist, Yote Diamondback, would’ve been in Slytherin.
And, finally, there’s the NHL, and it’s a big reason why I decided to roll with 32 different schools; one for each team as of the 2023-24 season.
