7 reasons I’m the perfect archetype for Quinn Cozens

Quinn Cozens is our lead act and hardcore libertarian survivalist in Beyond the Lost Horizon. And he’s a carbon copy of his creator.

Quinn Cozens was always gonna be TC Marti’s carbon copy. Hell, he’s born on April 27th, he’s got my olive green eyes, dark, ringlet hair, a love for Tyr and Germanic/Norse Paganism, and has a soft spot for his Italian heritage.

His skin may be a little darker than mine since the Italian blood runs a little deeper. But other than that, he and I are the same in more ways than this article can do justice.

That said, I’ll give you seven of them.

1 – He’s a workout warrior

Early in Beyond the Lost Horizon, I establish two things: 1) Quinn would rather go for a run than attend a K-pop concert, and 2) He’s ripped as f*ck.

When Quinn’s not pissing off NFL fans, he’s either in the gym or running around town. There, now you got insight on my lifestyle.

2 – He descended into hell and lived to tell about it

Taking a trip to hell is something Quinn and I did side-by-side, only ten years apart. For me, it was all about finding ways to work in a non-traditional setting and earn full-time income, even if it killed my bank account once.

As for Quinn? He’s got the same backstory. Only difference is, Quinn’s definition of hell might change in Beyond the Lost.

3 – He’s fired numerous bosses

Hey, micro-managers suck you know what, and Quinn wasn’t putting up with them. In the real world, neither did I.

I quit a sh*t ton of jobs en route to getting what I wanted. If the bosses behaved themselves better, maybe I’d’ve stuck around a little longer.

4 – He’s a libertarian

This might be the Captain Obvious one, yeah? Quinn ain’t gonna sit there and accept official narratives that the US government saved capitalism from itself or saved the world when it nuked two cities in Japan.

Nah, Quinn’s looking at things from a perspective that the state never funded. Why? Because he, much like myself, realizes that statist dogmas come from institutions the state funnels stolen money into.

And no, this shouldn’t be rocket science.

5 – He’s a damn good chess player

No, I’m not talking about the board game. Quinn’s the ultimate survivalist, even if he doesn’t come across as one.

But hey, I once heard the Devil’s greatest trick was convincing the world he never existed. Quinn’s no different.

He knows what to barter with, where to find guns and ammo, and he’s resourceful enough to concoct a Plan B when Plan A goes to hell.

6 – He’s an opinionated sportswriter

Yeah, Quinn loves posting his opinions and getting paid for it. I’m no different, even if he and I don’t cover the same sport.

Or, in Quinn’s case, didn’t cover the same sport since the NFL’s long gone after that brutal terrorist attack that forced him and Yui Kikuchi to go on the run. Still, he reminisces at times.

7 – He’s got a nostalgic side

The older I get, the more I look back to the old days with a sense of longing. But then I look at the here and now, appreciate it, and keep moving forward.

Quinn’s got the same thing going on. Hell, he’ll even cry tears of nostalgia for a minute or two. But it doesn’t take him from the task at hand, which involves finding a way to survive after society collapses.
