Elemental magic turns emotion into power and destruction
Elemental magic roars. It doesn’t hide. It’s fire, water, earth, air, and, sometimes, lightning and ice wielded through human hands.
This magic shatters walls, reshapes land, and brings enemies to their knees. It hits hard, and it leaves a mark. You don’t study it in a library. You’re born with it. Bloodlines carry it. Emotions fuel it. Anger sparks fire. Calm guides water. Focus controls air. Lose control, and the power turns on you or everyone around you. Wow, I’m on a roll today, aren’t I?
These stories thrive on pressure. Often, anyway. Control versus chaos. Power versus survival. Elementals live one mistake away from disaster. Some train in the open. Others run from those who would cage them. A few try to change the world. Most just want to survive it. Sounds like what you’ll find in my stories, yeah?
One of the more versatile subgenres of fantasy out there
You’ll find elemental magic across every flavor of fantasy, and that’s what makes it so versatile. Epic, dark, urban, even romantic, to name a few. Wherever it shows up, the magic does more damage than one can imagine. It shifts power, raises questions, and it never fades quietly, something each story in the Renegades Epic has proven.
For more familiar worlds, look at Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Broken Earth Trilogy, and Fireborne. These aren’t stories about clever wizards and tidy spells, as you’ll see in cozy small-town fantasy, to throw out a subgenre. They’re about rage, loyalty, fear, and the raw force of nature channeled through fragile bodies.
Naturally, elemental magic is all over the Elementals Universe
In the Elementals Universe, the broader scope of the Renegades Epic, elemental magic drives the battle. In Elementals of Nordica, entire nations rise or fall depending on who controls the, well, money, power, and influence, similar to what you see in real life.
Still, fire burns battlefields barren. Ice locks enemies in place. Lightning cuts like a blade. And why I’m thinking mainly of BattleFront (Chronicles of Rondure, Book II), I have no idea. Anyway, you get the point. This magic demands control. It feeds on will. And when it shows up, something breaks, regardless of whether it’s in my work or another’s.
