Rajae “Raj” Worthy took her commander to school in my dystopian science fantasy when they argued over what patriotism truly meant. A lot of people have a warped view of patriotism. In the Notes section, I’ve seen neocon chickenhawks get accusatory, lashing out at those unwilling to support war with a nation that never threatened…
My works share one common denominator: They’re libertarian fiction, and they will throw casual readers off because they can’t escape into my worlds. This morning, I read a frightening article by The Wise Wolf entitled The Government Now Wants Every American Wearing a Privacy-Invading Tracking Device. Of course, they’ll sell this to the masses with the usual it’s…
Wind Wielder is literary fiction disguised as a brewing military science fantasy, and it takes a flamethrower to American foreign policy narratives. I first wrote Wind Wielder during the COVID pandemic in June 2020. So much of it did double duty. It hit on how governments and corporations collude to create narratives that trickle down through the…
No matter how it’s spun, the corporate world sucks. That’s about as blunt as I can make it. Fortunately, it doesn’t need to be that way. Freelance work is the “get out of the corporate world” free card. And when I say freelance work, I don’t mean exclusively contract work for someone else. That’s the…
COVID-19 was more than a sack of lies told by governments all over the globe. But it sowed the seeds for my very first novel. I first wrote Wind Wielder in 2020. A book without a true genre, some would say. I fused Wind Wielder with dystopian, fantasy, sci-fi, and military concepts. My biggest challenge, by far, was…
The original Elementals of Nordica concept still explored fantasy, sci-fi, and military concepts, but it was a dark fight for survival and nothing more. Morbid. That’s the best way to describe the original Elementals of Nordica concept. Take a completely politically-incorrect novel and inject grimdark fantasy into its elements. That’s what I was gunning for. Name the offensive language…
Tyranny is evil. Something authors and readers agree on regardless of what color their jersey is. And it’s why I’m starting the Rogue Fiction Alliance. What do I want to gain from this? Simple. I want this band of authors and readers to have a few aims. Read and share work with a common denominator…
I’ve been to my fair share of hockey games, and the cheap seats often draw the worst kind of people. Seriously, don’t waste your time. It’s been years since I’ve gone to a hockey game, as I’m often too busy with about a million different endeavors to fight traffic. Still, I remember sitting in the…
Grand Theft Auto III (GTA III) is one of the most memorable and controversial games ever. And one I had to at least give a nod to in Wind Wielder. My Elementals of Nordica series carries a lot of nods and recognition to some of my favorite books, movies, and even video games from the…
Elementals of Nordica will impress readers who don’t need their fiction to fit cleanly in any one genre. And it packs a lot of punches. Before I wrote this piece, I went back and trashed six posts from May 2021. And wow, what a difference four and a half years makes. Back then, I didn’t…
The war on Christianity is a war on meaning, tradition, and freedom. I may not follow Christ, but I’ll fight to protect what built the West. Most people hear “(Germanic) Pagan defends Christianity” and jump straight to “hypocrisy.” But it’s not hypocrisy. It’s coherence. Because while I don’t kneel before a cross, I do see…
Why did Western Civilization come to dominate global economics, innovation, and cultural influence, while much of the East lagged behind? How the West Was Won was a cinematic tribute to frontier grit, rugged freedom, and conquest. But today, a better question might be: How did the West win, period? It wasn’t because the West had…
