TC Marti surrounded by several of his book characters in a high-end office.

To the internet troll who called TC Marti toxic

One internet troll rage blocked old TC. He saw the troll’s comment, but the troll, in typical troll fashion, was too dim to realize one major detail.

I had the biggest LOL moment of the week yesterday. Apparently, a commenter at my Substack — The Rogue Scribe — wasn’t too thrilled with my Most Toxic Person I’ve Ever Met piece, and they wrote the following:

  • “LLM from first word to last. The most toxic person I’ve ever read.”

Wait, it gets better! The commenter in question, someone whose bio says, “Small business focus. Democracy, terrain theory, transport, equity….And I am utterly opposed to everything AI.” proceeded to rage block me after leaving the comment.

Just an internet troll living up to the billing

Evidently, he didn’t realize that if you block a user’s Substack domain, all of your comments will disappear, so nobody got to see it.

Then again, his bio alone makes me want to ask him what he’s smoking.

On their behalf, I said to myself, “This one’s going into an email.” The next morning, I sent a truncated version of this awesome article to my list. Because you know, that’s what good authorpreneurs do.

That said, he’s partially right, since I do use LLMs for images like that banner image you see above this text. One where Yui Kikuchi looks like she’s having the time of her life with me, a couple Elementals, a Witch, and a Mage.

As for writing fiction itself?

I’ve experimented, but the results have mainly been disastrous. Which is why I don’t promote any of those Enter the Romantasy niche with these awesome AI prompts and start churning out fiction in seconds that you can upload on Amazon so you too can have a piece of the pie to this multi-billion-dollar industry or whatever it’s worth these days.

I wouldn’t know — I don’t read romantasy.

I write fiction with teeth that never asked for permission

But I do write books that I want to read, and I’m sure you wouldn’t mind reading them, too.

So, to celebrate this funny little comment, I thought I’d host a never-ending promo at The Rebel Lore Vault for readers lucky enough to stumble across this article, where every e-book is 50% off when you use the Coupon Code TCISTOXIC50 at the checkout.

You can scour Substack to thank the dude who left that comment and secured you a deep discount on every book in my backlist available at the Vault.

You might be able to hunt them down with that bio sample I gave you.

Anyway, enjoy the TC IS TOXIC SALE! Again, use the Coupon Code TCISTOXIC50 at the checkout and get 50% off everything at The Rebel Lore Vault.
