Catenarian Chronicles reveals secrets of the darkest art
Nobody’s making Horcruxes in Catenarian Chronicles. But the elite perform acts so vile that it’d make any human with a sane mind want to vomit.
What is the darkest art? Some might say murder, while others claim it involves drawing blood from a victim so one could use it in some diabolical, ritualistic occult magic.
I can go on forever here. Torture until one’s so gone in the mind that they lose every quality that makes them human, leaving them as an empty shell, soulless and evil.
Or what about those cults that practice dark magic and require victims of human trafficking to be used in human sacrifice? Something where the victim’s lying motionless in a summoning circle as the cult surrounds them, knives in their hands, uttering incantations before they cut through their prey, field dressing them until there’s nothing left to drain.
I know, it paints a dreary picture. But even what I described above’s not the darkest art seen in the Catenrian Chronicles. Hell, that dark art’s shown to us every day on cable news networks. It’s talked about, debated, and it creates animosity between those bowing down to media anchors, politicians, and even higher-ups in some of the world’s largest multinational corporations.

What is the darkest art revealed in the Catenarian Chronicles?
Divide, conquer, let the masses fight and die, rinse, and repeat. Do it on a global scale—and a domestic scale—and watch those who know no better keep ceding their civil liberties.
Watch them demand those who don’t—both sides of the equation—give up those same civil liberties lest they risk their reputation, credibility, status, jobs, and even their emotional well-being.
Because those under the spell of the mainstream media, be it MSNBC and CNN or Fox News, won’t stop until they outright dominate the other side. But domination doesn’t mean extinction, and dissenters against the State’s and their minions’ vice grip will persist.
Meanwhile, on a global scale, new wars and conflicts flare up. How many times has it occurred in this century alone? Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, Gaza, and now Iran. That’s seven wars in the first quarter of the 21st century.
And who do they propagate into letting them get away with this? Yeah, the same nation they divided at home.
So, the darkest art in Catenarian Chronicles, my dark paranormal fantasy series, is right in front of your face here in the real world.
The elites thrive and gain power on misery
A lot of people have told me they don’t watch the news because it’s depressing, and they’re absolutely right. Want to put yourself on the fast track to anxiety and depression? Watch the news and pick your poison, because you got plenty to choose from:
- Fox News
- MSNBC
- CNN
- ABC
- NBC
- CBS
I just named six off the bat. All of those networks listed above, depending on their bias, will tell you how great their side is and how evil the other side is. Donald Trump can do no wrong in the eyes of one of them, and it’s impossible for him to get anything right in the eyes of others.
But what does it accomplish? It keeps the perpetual cycle of misery, anxiety, hate, and distrust alive.
The same concept applies to Catenarian Chronicles, as the Augury and Mercenary Parties hate each other so much that Mages representing the parties’ upper echelons, but not elites, have even engaged in domestic armed conflict, something you’ll see in Book I, Cursed Mage.

The real enemy isn’t the Average Joe on the Left or the Right
The people these news networks serve, the politicians they worship like gods, and the armed conflict they all endorse in one way, shape, or form, and those they act as mouthpieces for are the real enemies.
They’re the reason the elites who own them can engage in the darkest art: Mass human suffering, if you haven’t already figured it out. Suffering to the point people want to kill each other and are justifying violence toward the side that disagrees with them.
While the Average Joe and Plain Jane are celebrating the strife and inconveniences of the “other side,” don’t fault them. The elite establishment’s brainwashed, propagated, and turned them against each other. Good people turned corrupt because that’s how the elite establishment thrives.
How to beat them at their own game
Stop unwittingly supporting them. Turn off the TV and swear off news networks. I get that it’s like a drug addiction to some, but find a better addiction to engage in.
Look at the people you cross every day and know they’re no different from you, even if the TV’s been lying and telling you otherwise. And think about it: Do they look like bad people? I beg to differ.
Help make your community a better place, either by shopping local, going online and telling others how great the region is that you live in, exploring hidden gems, building alternative systems that help ordinary people exit the Matrix, and making new friends regardless of whether they’re wearing a red or a blue jersey.
Encourage self-sufficiency, self-ownership, free and open markets, charity, and find new ways to strengthen those bonds. I once argued America should break up into 10,000 republics for this reason. Not because we need more animosity, but the more independent people become, the more likely they’ll force elite establishments to leave them alone.
Do that, and those practicing the darkest art can’t touch us.
Tying it into Catenarian Chronicles
In Cursed Mage, you get an early look at how this plays out. Two political parties — Augury and Mercenary — locked in endless conflict. Sound familiar? One might look like the lesser of two evils, but Kaija Jokiharju soon learns that “lesser” doesn’t mean trustworthy.
Each side claims to be fighting for justice, but both carry agendas darker than most Mages could stomach. Kaija’s survival — and her sovereignty — depends on seeing past the slogans and figuring out which truths are buried.
Because in her world, like ours, the darkest art isn’t ritual blood sacrifice. It’s manipulation, division, and the misery it breeds. And the deeper Kaija digs, the more she realizes: the real enemy isn’t who she thought.
