The Cocky Love Interest in Arcane: Storm Sharpe

ByTC Marti

Storm Sharpe is the kind of guy women fall for. He’s athletic, he comes from money, and he’s a leader. That said, Storm is a headcase.

  • Parents: Ukko and Rauni Sharpe
  • Fun Fact: Storm is an equivalent to Draco Malfoy and James Potter
  • Hogwarts House: Slytherin
  • Arcane School: Scorpii
  • Birthday: Jun. 16

Have you ever read Harry Potter and realized that Draco Malfoy and James Potter are eerily similar? They’re both school bullies who love targeting specific students, especially poverty-stricken students from rival Houses like Ron Weasley (Malfoy) and Severus Snape (Potter).

Storm’s cut from the same cloth. He’s a star athlete, and a star student. His future’s already set for him, thanks to his father, Ukko Sharpe, owning Sharpe Defense, the region’s largest and most successful privately-funded defense contracting firm.

He’s arrogant, and his looks can capture any girl’s attention. Storm’s dark, ringlet hair, olive green eyes, ivory skin, and lean build give him a look similar to Ukko’s. You can even call Storm the male version of Yote Diamondback’s sister, Jett Diamondback, adding to the irony.

He’s not afraid to show off his family’s status and wealth. And he specifically targets students from rival schools, like “nice-guy” Loki Kahne. Mainly because Loki has a crush on Yote, but doesn’t boast hordes of wealth like Storm.

You couldn’t sharpen the contrast between Storm and Loki further. One exudes power, wealth, and confidence. The other? Emotional availability and humility.

Storm Sharpe isn’t such a bad guy…

Despite Storm’s shortcomings, Yote can’t help but go all googly-eyed for him. That said, Storm sincerely cares about Yote and those around him.

He constantly asks Yote how she’s adjusting to being so far away from her hometown of Kenborne, and he even invites her to his family’s get-together during the Yule break. Not as a date, but as a friend.

Storm also exists to expose Yote’s character flaws

The Arcane Prophecy by TC MartiI’ve said it in so many previous articles, even outlining it in Yote’s character profile (linked above). She’d be a Slytherin through and through if she went to Hogwarts.

She’s attracted to Storm, despite the way he and his friends, whom she dubs the Gang of Idiots, treat others either like they’re below them or like props. Storm’s wealth further impresses Yote, as does his athletic ability.

Meanwhile, you may read The Arcane Prophecy and root for Yote to end up with Loki, as opposed to Storm. That’s if she even chooses either one of them in the end. But what sets the stage for Yote and Storm to cross paths? Find out what made Yote end up venturing to the Arcane Elemental Academy by catching its first three chapters.
